And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” ~ Acts 2:42
The earliest church, as Luke summarizes it, not only studied together, but built friendships, ate together, and worshiped together.

Throughout the Week: Communities of Belonging Gatherings
Classes meet Sunday through Thursday at various times via Zoom Meetings.
Finding community is an integral part of growing in faith, and the Communities of Belonging initiative hopes to provide opportunities for us to build new relationships. Life has a way of pulling us in many directions, and we recognize the desire to connect beyond just Sunday mornings. We are excited about this season in our church as we explore together how every member can be the connected body of Christ.
Spring 2022 Communities of Belonging
We recite the Apostles’ Creed nearly every week in worship here at FPC. Yet for many it remains a dull routine fraught with confusion or doubt. So, do we really need creeds? Some people do not like the idea of pinning truth down. Others want to stick to the Bible alone. Certainly it is true that only the Bible is God’s inspired word – creeds cannot have the same authority. Join us this Lenten season as we discover how the Apostles’ Creed is derived from Scripture and open ourselves once again to its life-changing significance for our daily lives.

Tuesdays
Men’s Bible Study
This Bible study, comprised of approximately 40 men of varying ages and backgrounds meets weekly and is led by Dr. Sandra Randleman. Sandra leads this group in a continued study of the book of Exodus and the pilgrimage of the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt to the Promised Land. It is a story of God’s faithfulness to His covenant promises despite the Israelites continuing failure to honor God and respond with gratitude to God’s provision of all that they need and so much more. The trek through the wilderness is a journey of spiritual formation. In the story of the Israelites, we may see our own spiritual journeys from a state of fear and bondage to a new life that is abundant and filled with gratitude for God’s guidance and our many blessings.
